I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me. ~Jesus

Cosyns

I just ripped through some of Cosyns material on Youtube for breakfast this morning and I must say, it was beautifully brutal. Cosyns is guitar project founded by Derek Corzine. He actually plays all the instruments and uses his guitar to convey lyrics using morse code. I am not sure I have ever heard something quite as creative. I mean, you could stay up all night long and not think of that. For those of you that like your metal instrumentally, you'll really dig his stuff. Check it out!

Derrick Paul solo guitarist

I've been following Derrick Paul on Reverbnation for a while now and I felt like it was time for me to include him somewhere on my blog. For those of you that appreciate classical music and classical guitar, his music will be a nice addition to your collection. On his latest run, he plays songs by Bach, but there are also lots of originals in his repertoire. Hailing from New York, he is sure to entertain you with his beautiful guitar work!

The Walking Tree

I just found a really sick new band called The Walking Tree. Very cool, and by the look of their Facebook and label, it appears they love Jesus a lot! Every facet of this band rocks. The guitars go from melodic to melt your face, vocals can be described the same way, and the drums and bass are pummeling. Two words:  Really solid

Finding Favour - Slip On By

I was driving and listening to the radio the other morning when this song came on, and when I heard it, I immediately liked it because it was more alternative than what you normally hear on mainstream radio. The lyrics are what also got to me. When I got home I ran a search for the band and after listening to the song a few times, it started to make me really think about opportunities that I might be missing in life. Opportunities that I take for granted like really making the most of the moments with my family, with Jesus, and people in general. The truth is, we don't have much time here. It is precious, and God only gives us so much of it. You could even think of time as being our most precious thing, because once it's spent, it's gone forever. At age 38, "Slip On By" really hit home because I can honestly look back and see plenty of missed opportunities, but it also leaves me inspired to try and put more effort into life; To have a better attitude. This song isn't just entertainment. It really is a call for us all to cherish every moment and not take any of it for granted. They way they deliver that message is just amazing. Great song!

Devin Williams - Overload

My son Colson came in the other night and told me to check out Devin Williams. He said that he had heard him on Pandora with Love and Death. After watching the video to his song "Overload" I was sold. He has a nice sound; It's a blend of hard rock and alternative, but edgy... There is a lot about this band that I really like, especially that he loves Jesus, plays churches, etc... Though he is probably the principle songwriter, the only thing I personally think they could change (and would probably take them further) is to collectively come up with a name that fits their sound, so when you hear it, you know it's going to be as hard as this song is. Check it out!

Lovelite - In Three Persons

If you were ever a fan of the music of the 80's, then you will absolutely dig Lovelite! Lovelite just put out their new album "In Three Persons" on Noisetrade. These guys (and one girl) aren't pretenders... They're the real deal! Their music can be described as indie-alternative and new wave (80's), with lots of keyboards, ambient sounds and fresh, vibrant vocals done by Andrew and Jen Polfer (husband and wife). I first heard a song by Lovelite a few years back and I knew they were different. Too bad I didn't look any further. With the release of this album, it unfolds a whole new perspective for me of this highly talented band. One word:  anointed
